Rebekah Marquez
Rebekah Marquez, Director of Los Angeles Operations, is a tenor trombonist. She started learning the trombone at age 10 by Gustavo Dudamel’s nonprofit organization, Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles. She has been a part of the YOLA community for 7 years and has recently become a part of the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra for a year. Rebekah has had opportunities to be a part of the YOLA National Festival (2020) and Interlochen Arts Camp for 3 consecutive years on scholarship. Rebekah has traveled abroad with YOLA, as she went on tour with the LA Phil to Mexico City, and performed at several venues including Bellas Artes and Los Pinos (2019). She has performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London, United Kingdom (2019) and was scheduled to perform with the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra at Musikverein in Vienna for Bethoveens’s 250 Orchestra Festival. Outside of music, Rebekah participates in a traditional dance group that has gone to perform in Oaxaca, Mexico. Rebekah enjoys reading, her favorite book is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
