Morris Hu
Morris Hu, from Taiwan, grew up listening to the sound of his mom, a classical pianist, playing the piano. This inspired him to pick up both the flute and the piano at the age of 6, studying the flute under Loren Lind and the piano under his mom. Morris’ love for music has only grown since then and he now attends a preparatory music high school where he plans to major in flute performance and minor in piano performance. He currently studies with Lian-Qu for flute and has transitioned to studying under Chuhan-Huang for piano. Morris has participated in the Taiwan national flute competition for three years consecutively and has recently won 5th place. He has also auditioned and been selected for the Taiwan National Symphony Youth Orchestra. Last summer, Morris attended the Philadelphia International Music Festival where he was able to work with many amazing flute players. As a fun fact, his mom discovered he had perfect pitch when he was 7 years old!
