Jackson Naglick
Jackson Naglick, Director of Michigan Operations, began playing the piano at age five. He studies with renowned teacher, composer, and pianist, Catherine Rollin of Bloomfield Hills. Jackson also studies with the concert pianist, Aviram Reichert, who is a professor at Seoul National University and the 1997 Van Cliburn Competition Bronze Medalist. In addition to piano, Jackson plays the oboe and has studied with Dr. Ann Lemke of Troy since age nine. He is the principal oboist and the orchestral pianist in Oakland Youth Orchestra’s Symphony Orchestra. Jackson is eager to promote Melodeebee’s mission to inspire and support young musicians, and he enjoys volunteering and sharing music in meaningful ways. During the 2019-2020 school year, he volunteered with FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation in Birmingham, which provides programs to children and adults with special needs. Jackson was the piano accompanist for the Spotlight Theatre music therapy group, which learned fun songs from Broadway musicals such as, “Forty-Second Street,” “Good Morning, Baltimore,” and “Oklahoma,” just to name a few. In 2019, Jackson performed in the Faith in Humanity Benefit Concert, which raised over $5000 to build shower and laundry facilities for those in need in Detroit. He also enjoys spreading joy through music by performing at senior living communities. Jackson has real-world experiences to share with other musicians, as he has performed in numerous recitals and competitions. In 2020, he was proud to be selected as a YoungArts Award Winner. Jackson gave his first solo recital at age 10 for the Rochester Conservatory of Music and has since been honored to perform a solo recital in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City. He was also the featured soloist at the Piano Technicians Guild Annual Convention in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he performed a full-length recital sponsored by the Shigeru Kawai Piano Company. Jackson made his orchestral debut as a piano soloist with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. During the summer, he has attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for three years and the Philadelphia International Music Festival in 2020. Not only does he enjoy playing as a soloist, Jackson also values collaborating with other musicians and serves as a piano accompanist in his community for a variety of soloists. In his free time, he is an avid baseball fan, and he enjoys composing music, birdwatching, and cycling.
