Hannah Zhang
Hannah Zhang, a rising junior in Montgomery Blair High School’s STEM Magnet Program, started playing piano at age 5 and violin at age 7. Her passion for music led her to start teaching piano lessons 4 years ago. She has won numerous piano awards, including first prizes at the International Young Artists Piano Competition, YMIC International Piano Competition, Gertrude Brown Memorial Piano Competition, and Miriam S. Gottlieb Memorial Piano Competition. She has performed with 3 orchestras, at Washington International Piano Festival 4 times, and at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Weill Hall, and the U.S. State Department. She has also received first prizes from MSMTA Solo Strings Festival and MSMTA/ASTA Strings Plus on violin. Her orchestral experience includes 7 years in Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras, of which she was a section leader for 4, 2 years in Maryland All-State Orchestras, and playing as a guest artist with Catholic University of America’s Symphony Orchestra.
