This class will be taught by Graeme Buehrer, a well-experienced high schooler composer.
Graeme Buehrer is a composer born in Greenwich, who is raised and currently resides in New York. Graeme started his musical journey beginning with piano lessons at the age of 7, followed by trumpet at 8, and started composing at the age of 10 through the New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers (VYC) program. Graeme is now an alumnus and post-grad of that program.
Currently Graeme is entering his Senior year at the Special Music School in New York City where he is pursuing a Composition major under the guidance of Dr. Max Grafe and in collaboration with the Kaufman Music Center.
The majority of Graeme’s repertoire was built under the VYC program, teaching him traditional notation, music theory, and ear training. He has composed for string quartets, chamber groups, jazz big bands, and orchestra. Now, he is developing his sound and artistry as an electronic composer and DJ. Graeme is entirely self taught in electronic music, and is hoping to pursue a career in that field. Outside of his passion for music, Graeme enjoys the outdoors, namely hiking, camping, and fishing anywhere he can.
