Aidan Billings

Aidan Billings is a dual degree student in violin performance and Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia, SC, where he studies with Dr. William Terwilliger and participates in the University Symphony as well as a String Quartet that rehearses and performs virtually through the University. Aidan attended the Charleston County School of the Arts for high school, as a Violin Major. While at CCSOA Aidan became the Co-Concertmaster of both the Symphony Orchestra and the Premier String Orchestra at the school and also served as the Assistant Conductor of the Strings Program for his final two years. While Aidan Lead and performed with these highly esteemed groups, the Symphony was awarded the first prize at the National Adjudicators Invitational in 2018 and the Sinfonietta String Orchestra performed and conducted two master-classes at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic of 2019. Outside of school, he formed the Three Pegs Trio, which played more than 150 payed performances and 50 hours of volunteering in the year of 2019, while also playing as a Co-Concertmaster of the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra and attending South Carolina All-State and Regional Orchestras for multiple years. During his summers, Aidan has attended the Violin institute at Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Summer Music Program at Florida State University, and also the Charleston Chamber Music Intensive. Aidan owes much of his success to his high school violin instructor Tomas Jakubek, his high school Orchestra instructor Dr. Christopher Selby, and his middle school Orchestra instructor Mrs. Margaret Selby.
